Saturday 13 March 2010 at 6:59 pm YouTube is full of make up tutorials, some good, some bad. I love watching make up tutorials, I must admit, I just like to see how other make up artists work. But I generally hate them. I don't even know why, maybe it's because I'm a pretentious bitch or something, but all those girls and their MAC eyeshadows piss me off, and I am always underwhelmed. Not to mention they talk too much and it's really boring.

Except for these girls. They can talk forever if they want, they can do sexy faces at the camera any time they want. I actually enjoy it, they're incredibly entertaining. Not to mention they really know what they're talking about, and they don't take themselves or make up too seriously. They know how to break all the rules, they're not afraid of scruffy look, they do the conventional and the unconventional, and their tutorials are never boring. They do tutorials for all the basics of make up, which are actually a pleasure to watch, even if I think I know all about it. They also do tutorials for all the trends, the good trends, and most importantly, celebrity make up tutorials. Seriously, their celebrity make up tutorials are the best. And I hate celebrity make up tutorials.

These are my favourites. Obviously.

There's also Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot, Audrey Hepburn, Dita Von Teese, Debbie Harry, everything. There's even Pamela Anderson. So, if you'd like, go get lost in their YouTube channel, or their website FASHIONFACE.

Friday 12 March 2010 at 02:59 am I must admit I haven't followed through my commitment of a drawing a day, at least not in a very organized manner. Don't get me wrong, I actually have been constantly drawing. I won't say I haven't skipped a few days, which I probably have, but I've lost track of time and purpose along the way. But I haven't given up yet. Mondays are for new beginnings, so starting Monday I will give it another go, this time in a more organized fashion. I really need to focus, I need to think up a routine I can follow.

So, Monday it is. Today I will not dig up all the crap, I'll just share the following which are the ones I'm most proud of, for whatever reasons.

This was a little exercise we did at school, we had to make a short comic of our day since we woke up until we arrived at school. It's a little sketchy because I only had about an hour to make it, and I'm not very good at comics! Anyway, in case it's difficult to understand, I'm waking up, then I'm having a cup of coffee on the computer, then I'm catching a taxi, then I'm at Vanda's doorstep and she's welcoming me in, then the obscure one is Vanda taking my picture (that's me reflected on the camera lens), then I'm having lunch while Cisco is sharing funny videos on YouTube, then I'm arriving at school, and finally I'm in class doodling on my sketchbook.

This is a comic I'm working on for school, it's a short story from the book Crimines Ejemplares (Exemplary Crimes) by Max Aub. The drawing will be changed slightly and I will maybe add colour. I was going to add more all black areas, but the teacher complimented my line work so much that we decided I should stick to it. He didn't like the eyebrows or the moustache, because it breaks the rhythm of the line drawing, which I have to agree with. So that will probably be changed as well. Except for all the blood, for that drama is required.

This is something I made on last Wednesday's MHMC/PMA meeting. It was entertaining and I like how it looks. I used to do a lot of this automatic drawing on my old art journal, but I stopped doing it so much recently. But it's great, I completely lose track of time and just keep at it forever if possible, just for the sake of fun.

Sam :(

Thursday 11 March 2010 at 6:01 pm R.I.P. Corey Haim! I didn't remember his name, or even really recognized him as an actor aside from his character as Sam in The Lost Boys, I honestly know next to nothing about him. So, if Cisco hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known. But Corey Haim was Sam, and now it's really sad. Sam is my favourite character in the best movie of all time, The Lost Boys. So here's a little clip, in his honor:

the anorak & a confession of love

The moment I saw this video I knew, that was THE anorak. Junya Watanabe, Fall 2009.

I hate G-Dragon. That bitch.

The only anorak I would ever die for D:

I lie, I love G-Dragon. He's always, I quote, "so freshly dressed", you see. It's addictive.

G-Dragon for Vogue. Bitch.
